www.funtener.org is the first step in a long term effort led by Odon de Buen (CV) to enhance the participation of non-governmental organizations in the process of transformation of the energy sector in Mexico to a more decentralized, end-use and end-user inclusive, less oil dependent, and more efficient energy sector (omit second in Mexico). Under this perspective the focus is on energy efficiency, renewable energy and decentralized or distributed systems.

This website intends to integrate information on this process of change seen on a long term perspective that includes the past and the future and a spectrum of issues ranging from technology to its social impacts. It also intends to integrate useful information for the present and to become a forum of opinion for those participating in this very fast transformation.

Future steps in this effort include the organization of conferences and training courses of different types and audiences in several cities in Mexico that will be open to international participation. These meetings will be organized with other interested parties and may even be another party´s initiative.
